Risiko, Resilienz und Versicherung in ökologisch-ökonomischen Systemen
Die Resilienz ökologisch-ökonomischer Systeme, d.h. ihre Fähigkeit, ihre wesentlichen Funktionen und Mechanismen auch unter Störungen beizubehalten, ist für Menschen sehr wertvoll, da sie natürlichen Schutz vor katastrophalen Umweltveränderungen bietet. Beispielsweise leistet die Resilienz von Korallenriffen oder Mangrovenwäldern einen entscheidenden Beitrag zum Schutz vor Überschwemmungen in Küstenzonen. Unsere Forschung auf diesem Gebiet integriert Konzepte der Ökologie und der Ökonomik und untersucht mithilfe ökologisch-ökonomischer Modellierung die Resilienz von Mensch-Umwelt Systemen im Kontext von Umweltentscheidungen unter Unsicherheit. Konkret stützen wir uns auf Erkenntnisse und Methoden der Versicherungsökonomik und der Entscheidungstheorie, um das konzeptionelle Verständnis von ökologisch-ökonomischer Resilienz weiterzuentwickeln.
