.My research mainly focuses on two interrelated topics:

  •  The analysis of existing synergies and trade-offs between biodiversity conservation and the provision of ecosystem services.
  •  The design of cost-effective incentive payments for biodiversity conservation in various contexts (asymmetric information, climate change, etc.).

I investigate these topics from both an empirical and a theoretical perspective. From a methodological point of view, my research is based on theoretical and especially integrated ecological-economic modelling as well as applied econometrics.

Research Interests

  • Environmental Economics
  • Ecological-economic modelling
  • Biodiversity conservation
  • Contract theory
  • Applied econometrics
